Day 11: Rotterdam, Netherlands

image

A day that started tired ended up being quite eventful; cycled the city, visited Kinderdijk, and attended a film at the Camera Japan Festival.

Kinderdijk is a small village outside of Rotterdam (1 hour boat ride) and is simply beautiful. The town is most popular for the system of 19 windmills built around 1740. One of windmills was operation and allowed visitors inside – it was amazing to see the wooden mechanics operational ; gears, shafts, etc.
